Abstract: Based on the theory of components mass conservation
the movement of the turbidity currents was approximated as a transfer process of sediment which was one component of the muddy sediment in the water
established the species equation and solved it coupled with the RNG k-ε equations which considered the vortex flow in the average flow
used the widely used commercial FLUENT software to calculate the model
and used the model experiment to demonstrate the numerical results. The results showed: the model could effectively simulate plunging and forward movement of the turbidity currents and it provided a new method for the turbidity currents research relative to reservoir
lake and river entrance. At the end used this model to simulate the movement of the turbidity currents for one reservoir when flooding.
