Abstract:In order to efficiently reuse high titanium blast furnace slag
foam glass-ceramics were produced by simultaneously foaming and crystallizing process at 1000 C
using the slag and waste glass as main raw materials
AlN as foaming agent
borax Na2B4O7•5H2O as fluxing agent. The influence of the additive amount of Na2B4O7•5H2O (4~7wt.%) on the foam glass-ceramics was studied by XRD
SEM and the test of physical and mechanical performance. The results showed that the borax barely affected the crystal phases of the foam glass-ceramics
only different kinds of pyroxene evolving

omphacite to augite; With increasing the borax amount
the system softened and the cell wall became compacting. Consequently
the porosity increased
the bulk density
compressive strength and heat conductivity decreased. The optimum comprehensive property of foam glass-ceramics was achieved at 5wt.% fluxing agent.
