
Open Access Statement
Advanced Engineering Sciences flipped to a fully open-access journal in 2022. All articles published in the journal since 2022 are open-access, available to readers on the journal's website free of charge immediately and permanently upon publication. Readers may use, copy, and distribute these articles in accordance with the CC BY-NC-ND 4.0 license.
Articles published in the journal in 2013-2021 are retrospectively categorized as open access. Readers may use, copy, and distribute these articles in accordance with the CC BY-NC-ND 4.0 license.
Articles published before 2013 are not open access, and their copyrights are held by the editorial department of the journal.
Licensing Policy
For open-access articles published in the journal, permissible third-party reuse is defined by the following license: Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivatives 4.0 (CC BY-NC-ND 4.0). This license allows users to copy and distribute the articles in any medium or format as long as the license terms below are followed:
Users must give appropriate credit, provide a link to the license, and indicate if changes to the articles were made. Users may do so in any reasonable manner, but not in any way that suggests the journal endorses the use. Users may not use the articles for commercial purposes. Copyright Policy
All authors are required to sign the "Copyright Transfer Agreement" to transfer the copyright of their article to the journal's publisher (i.e. Editorial Department of Journal of Sichuan University (Engineering Science Edition)), and the copyright will belong to the Editorial Department of Journal of Sichuan University (Engineering Science Edition). Authors have the right to use their published articles under the following circumstances:
1) Authors may quote partial content or figures from their article in subsequent works;
2) Author may compile their article into a non-periodical collection with proper attribution;
3) Authors may deposit an electronic version of the article on their personal or institutional webpage with proper attribution;
4) Authors may use their articles under CC BY-NC-ND 4.0 license.
If the article is not published by the journal in the end, the "Copyright Transfer Agreement" signed by the authors will automatically become invalid. Authors will still own the copyright.
Article Archiving Policy
All articles published since 2013 have been digitally archived in the journal's website and backed up in the editorial department. In the event of suspension of publication, readers can access history articles from China National Knowledge Infrastructure (CNKI), Wanfang Data, etc. Full text of articles published before 2013 can be obtained from CNKI, Wanfang Data, etc.
Authors' Self-Archiving
The journal allows authors to store all versions of their articles in an institutional or other knowledge repository of the authors' choice, subject to the specification of journal publication information in the article metadata of the stored institutional or other knowledge repository, and as a recommended citation.
Data Sharing
Authors are encouraged to share research data under appropriate circumstances. Generally, shareable data encompasses raw data, observation records, experimental results, and so forth. Additionally, the journal emphasizes the importance of authors sharing related research software, code, models, algorithms, protocols, methods, and other valuable materials. Authors are encouraged upload such materials to accessible third-party storage platforms (e.g., Science Data Bank) and provide corresponding links at the end of their articles.
Post-publication Discussions
The journal welcomes readers and authors to participate in discussions on our published articles. It also welcomes readers to supervise academic misconduct behaviors and actively provide feedback to the journal on relevant information to jointly create a good academic atmosphere. Readers can send comments to the journal's email. The editorial department will process them as soon as possible upon receipt and provide feedback as appropriate.
