Abstract:Cooperative Spectrum Sensing (CSS) is one of the vital mechanisms of cognitive radio (CR)
however
its security area has attracted very little attention
which is vulnerable to the SSDF attacks. To counter the SSDF attacks
an accumulated suspicious level-based algorithm was proposed. It calculated the accumulated suspicious level based on the distances of all secondary users’ reporting histories. With appropriate thresholds
the scheme distinguished honest secondary users and malicious secondary users. Only the secondary users that had been rectified can be used in the decision combination at the fusion centre (FC). Unlike other existing security schemes
the algorithm did not assume any a priori information about the strategy of attackers and can detect the intelligent attackers. Extensive simulations illustrated the effectiveness of the proposed scheme by showing that the scheme can effectively detect different types of SSDF attackers and decrease the negative impacts of SSDF attacks in CSS.
