Effect of Heat Treatment on Mechanical Properties of 34CrNi3Mo Cast Steel
Abstract: In order to research the effects of different heat treatment processes on mechanical properties of 34CrNi3Mo cast steel
the mechanical properties were compared in the condition of four kinds of heat treatment technologies which were “water spraying quenching with high temperature tempering”
“oil quenching with high temperature tempering”
“dual fluid quenching (water-oil)with high temperature tempering” and “dual fluid quenching with two times high temperature tempering”. The results show that not only the casting processed by “water sprying quenching with high temperature tempering” has better strength and hardness than that processed by “oil quenching and high temperature tempering”
but also has greater plasticity and impact toughness. The characteristics of strong external part and toughness internal can be achieved with “dual fluid quenching with high temperature tempering”. Dual fluid quenching (water-oil) and then twice high temperature tempering make the strength and hardness of the casting higher
