Abstract: In order to explore the failure mechanism of saturated concrete under the pore water pressure
through theory analysis the influence of pore water pressure and porosity for the micro-crack evolution and macro-mechanical properties of concrete on the existing researches
the stress intensity factor for I
II crack of concrete and the prevailing conditions for I-II mixed crack appearing tension failure and shear failure were determined under water environment. Based on pressure gradient between sealed pore water pressure Pf and transfixion pore water pressure Pg
through “YSL-200” computer-controlled hydraulic multi-channel axial compression combined effects of rock rheological,the failure mechanism of concrete under water environment was explained from microscopic perspective. the results showed that: the microscopic failure factors mainly including the change of porosity and hydraulic gradient caused by Pf and Pg; The failure mode belongs to“X”mode shear failure under water environment; The existence of water confining pressure could improve the compressive strength of saturated concrete.
