an innovative process design service model based on Service-Oriented Architecture was proposed. Strategy service and knowledge service were built from the dimensions of knowledge

method and computer aided tool. The ontology of services was built

and the system architecture was described from service level perspective. Design methods and knowledge resources were encapsulated as services by semantic description and unified expression. These services constituted coarse-grained service components according to logical relation. To assist designers creatively solve process problems

these services were organized according to the procedure of problem-solving and the solving strategy based on process problem classification. An optimization design of turbine shaft process was taken as an example to verify the effectiveness of the proposed service model.
